Medicare is a health insurance program for people 65 and older, as well as for people with particular disabilities, and those diagnosed with end-stage kidney failure, or ALS.

Medicare Supplement Insurance is offered by private insurance companies and helps cover some or all of the costs that Medicare part A and B don’t cover.

There are 10 standardized plans, labeled A, B, C, D, F, G, K, L, M, N which are available in most states.

Offered by private insurance companies, Medicare Advantage includes Medicare Parts A and B, and some plans include part D.

These plans can be HMO’s, PPO’s, or PFF’s. They generally have low or zero monthly premiums and co-pays for services. All plans limit your out of pocket costs. Some plans include coverage for Dental, Vision & Hearing, services not covered by Medicare.

Prescription Drug Plans are offered by private insurance companies to help with the costs of prescription drugs.
